This site is a very brief overview of the book and exhibition FROM AN ISLAND TO ANOTHER.
The 250 pages book was published in French and Portuguese versions in May 2018. The exhibition presented in Montreal, Canada and Ribeira Grande, São Miguel, Azores en 2018, will move to other cities and islands of the archipelago until late 2019.

The site is also meant to be an information and reference tool for those interested by the first big wave of Portuguese Immigration to Canada which took place in the 1950s. My family is part of this important event. The latter is very much part of the history of thousands of Azoreans living in the archipelago or abroad.

The whole project (book and exhibition) was supported by the Government of the Azores, and its Direção Regional das Comunidades.
