My uncle,
Nicolino Laureano
My mother died soon after I was born. My father probably wanted to give me another mother so he got married again, but what I got was someone who disliked me and would often spank me for any reason. At the age of two, my aunt Gilberta, who was furious about the situation, decided to take me out of the house and raised me.
One day, she took advantage of the fact that my father and my stepmother had left me at home, alone. She came to fetch me and took me to her house, hidden in a large wicker basket. When my father returned home, he quickly noticed I was not there. He thought immediately my aunt had something to do with this. He went directly to her house to take me back but she did not allow it. He returned home and from that day on, I rarely saw him.
My dear aunt Gilberta, she was a real mother to me until she died.
